Offseasons, for the purposes of the archive, are any unofficial competitions typically held between the end of the official competition season and the next season's kickoff. Offseasons typically follow a similar competition format to in-season events, with teams competing in seeding or qualification rounds to determine rankings for a playoff tournament. Offseasons may also give out awards and have live match commentary, video feeds, and other elements of official events. Offseason events differ from scrimmages in that they typically occur after the official competition season instead of between the start of build season and the start of competition season and are typically less focused on teams iterating and working on their robots. Photographs or other materials related to an offseason event should be tagged offseason.

The first offseason event was Rumble at the Rock I, held by team 23 in 1996.
