Editing Showbot

Showbot was a robot created by [[Disney]] Ride and Show engineers which was used during the [[1997cmp|1997]] and [[1998cmp|1998]] National Championships at the EPCOT Center at Disney World.

The [[1997]] Showbot was a large yellow box with black skirting with graphics of Mickey Mouse in one of the 1997 innertube game pieces. This Showbot was apparently used in place of the [[Placebo]] in matches.

The [[1998]] Showbot had a large base and a thinner "body" with two arms and a stylistically exposed animatronic face that would roam the crowd talking and shooting confetti from its arms<ref>[https://www.chiefdelphi.com/t/first-101-10-6-05/65665 FIRST 101 <nowiki>[10/6/05]</nowiki>]</ref>.

It is unknown what control systems the Showbots used. The 1998 Showbot was seemingly much more complex than the simple 1997 Showbot, and was probably based on existing Disney audio-animatronic technology.
