The 1998 Johnson & Johnson Mid-Atlantic Regional was one of two events that took place during week three of the 1998 FIRST Robotics Competition season. The regional took place at Rutgers University from March 19th to 21st, 1998. Like other events of the time, matches were played back and forth on an "A" field and a "B" field to decrease match turnaround. A large projection screen showed live match footage.
